Host a monthly themed fun walk, e.g. Turkey Trot, Snowman Saunter. Encourage students to participate through costumes or themed prizes.
Invite local celebrities to join walking/biking day events. Celebrities could include the principal, local sports mascots, athletes or local politicians.
Start a sneaker scavenger hunt! On designated walking days, stakeholders hide a few sneakers along popular walking or biking routes. Kids who find the sneakers on their way to school earn a reward or extra points for their classroom.
