To participate in the SRTS program, a school or community completes the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Participation Request.
- schools identify their interest in collaborating on Safe Routes to School initiatives through the Participation Request.
- interested schools and communities submit the completed Participation Request, via fax, email, or mail.
- MassRIDES coordinators meet and brief school stakeholders on the Safe Routes to School program.
- the school partners with MassRIDES by completing a Participation Enrollment Form and begins implementing the Safe Routes to School program.
- MassRIDES partner schools implementing education and encouragement activities become eligible for infrastructure projects specifically targeted to enhancing safe access to schools.
