While it’s the same program that you know and trust, Emergency Ride Home (ERH)—MassRIDES’ commuter insurance program—is just getting a little makeover.

How It Works

ERH is a “commuter insurance” policy that reimburses green commuters with a free ride home up to $100 a trip, up to four times a year, in the case of an emergency.

If an emergency prevents you from taking your green transportation home, take a taxi, Uber, Lyft, get a ride from a coworker, or take transit to you desired location and ask for a receipt. Then simply submit a reimbursement request along with your transportation receipt on commute.com within 30 days of your trip.

What Changed

While the submittal process and guidelines for ERH have not changed, the way in which users interact with the site has greatly improved. . Users will now be able to edit nearly all personal information, including usernames, email accounts, passwords, and home addresses connected with their ERH account. Additionally, social media links, biographical information, and a profile picture can be added to an account if you so choose.

For security purposes, legacy ERH users will be prompted to create a new password upon first sign-in..

We can’t wait for you to check out ERH’s new look. If you have any questions concerning the process, please contact us at 888-4COMMUTE.
