This month’s partner spotlight features MIT Lincoln Laboratory (MIT LL) in Lexington. Since 2013, MIT LL staff and employees have consistently shown an eagerness to expand green initiatives through the MassRides Program. With that sense of spirit in mind, and with help from their Employer Transportation Coordinator (ETC) and MassRides Outreach Coordinator, Carlos Robles, MIT LL strategized to host themed tabling events throughout the year.
Tabling events are effective ways to attract commuters and get them more involved in the MassRides program. Often, participating individuals have already committed to various green commutes, but remain unaware of the benefits available to them. MIT LL worked with its own ETC as well as the MassRIDES Outreach Coordinator to make the themed tabling events not only informative, but also more interactive and fun.
The first themed event, “Love Your Commute,” took place on Valentine’s Day. Employees at MIT LL were treated to boxes of chocolate on red tablecloths, among other Valentine’s Day treats. This tabling, while slightly unconventional compared to typical MassRIDES tabling events was a great success. MIT LL is excited to see how future themed events turn out, the next being “Christmas in July.”
Congratulations to MIT Lincoln Laboratory on their continued enthusiasm towards green transportation. We look forward to many lively, collaborative events in the future.
